In August 2021 DrLupo, then one of Twitch's biggest names at 4.5M followers, signed an exclusive streaming deal with YouTube Gaming, brokered by Loaded. This is the film that broke the news: it went out with his tweet on August 30, a few days after a teaser, and his first YouTube stream followed the next day.
The brief was to make the switch feel like an event rather than a press release: a moment for his community, with the platform reveal held back until the end. Because the deal was under wraps until the drop, the timeline was tight and the piece was built solo, start to finish: 3D in Cinema 4D and Octane, motion and finishing in After Effects.
The film builds DrLupo's mark as a glass prism, light breaking into rainbow dispersion as it takes shape. From there it opens into a forest of tall glass shards standing in the dark, lit in red and blue neon. Each shard carries footage and photos from his career, event stages and fist-bumps with fans, before the platform reveal. A career retrospective seen through crystal.
