Stream On was Twitch's first live game show, premiering March 8, 2018 on twitch.tv/twitch. Fourteen Partnered streamers took on weekly Twitch-themed challenges across an eleven-week run, with viewers voting on eliminations through a custom Extension; the winner took home a $5,000-a-month contract for a year.
It was produced by Twitch Studios, the in-house original creative and content team I'd moved into after the GoodGame acquisition, the same group behind shows like Freshstock. I designed the show's title sequence, and also designed the physical Stream On set, which the rest of the Studios team built on location at Twitch's San Francisco office.
The title sequence plays out in a clean white-and-grey world: streaming gear (mics, keyboards, controllers, headsets, cameras, a guitar, a sword) hangs suspended on strings, turning slowly, with scattered black letters drifting among the objects. Everything falls into place as the letters resolve into "STREAM ON," capped with the monitor icon and a red record dot on white.
