This photography project captures the interplay between light, shadow, and geometric forms in contemporary urban architecture.
Concept
Modern architecture provides endless opportunities for creative composition. This series focuses on:
- Symmetry and patterns - Finding order in urban chaos
- Light and shadow - Working with natural lighting conditions
- Perspective - Experimenting with unusual vantage points
- Minimalism - Emphasizing clean lines and negative space
Equipment & Settings
Shot entirely with:
- Canon EOS R5
- RF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens
- Polarizing filter for sky contrast
Typical settings:
- ISO 100-400 depending on lighting
- f/8-f/11 for optimal sharpness
- 1/250s - 1/500s shutter speed
Post-Processing Workflow
Each image underwent careful editing to enhance the architectural elements:
- Basic exposure and white balance corrections
- Perspective correction and lens distortion removal
- Selective color grading to emphasize materials
- Subtle dodging and burning for dimensional depth
- Final sharpening and noise reduction
"Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness." - Frank Gehry
Exhibition
This series was featured in the downtown gallery's "Urban Perspectives" exhibition in Spring 2024, receiving positive feedback for its fresh take on familiar structures.
The work continues to evolve as I discover new architectural gems throughout the city.
